Ex Sapper Gets Back to Work and Life

(Royal Engineers)

I left the Royal Engineers four years ago and have been working in Construction in Civvie street since then. A couple of months ago I was out on a long hike with friends, and managed to slip and injure my lower back. This was compounded by a four hour drive to work the following Monday. At first I thought little of it, but the pain grew steadily worse and then my whole upper body was pulled over to one side. I was unable to straighten my back, move my head, or sleep. The pain was constant and my situation was not good. I was referred through medical insurance to a Chiropractor, Dr James Revel, in my home town.
Upon seeing me, James informed me that I had a severely slipped disc in my lower back, and proceeded to get to work clicking me back into place. Due to the severity of the injury, I received back to back (poor pun intended) Chiropractic sessions, and gradually he got me straightened out. My medical insurance would only cover ten sessions, but I mentioned my time served in the Royal Engineers, and James informed me about the Hands for Heroes programme. Thanks to which, I am continuing to receive essential Chiropractic care, currently once weekly, which has enabled me to get back to work and some degree of normality!
I'm extremely grateful to both the Hands for Heroes programme, and to Dr James Revel for their continued support, and highly recommend Chiropractic care as the first point of call for back injuries.
